2003 Event General Information
In 2003 we raised the sum of £1,910.00 for Marie Curie Cancer Care and €1850.00 for the Irish Cancer Society. We wish to thank all those who donated money in achieving these amounts.
Interested in cycling from Mizen Head to Malin Head, all 415 miles of Irelands rolling hills and beautiful country side in between. Raise money for cancer charities and have a bit of fun along the way.
We will travel to Mizen Head on Tuesday 12 August 2003, and try to arrive before 22:00, and will stay overnight in the West Cork area.
The date's that the cycle will take place are :
Wednesday 13 August 2003 (Staying overnight in Limerick)
Thursday 14 August 2003 (Staying overnight in Claremorris)
Friday 15 August 2003 (Staying overnight in Omagh)
Saturday 16 August 2003 (Return Home)
On Wednesday we aim to complete around 130 miles (time around 9hrs)between Mizen Head and Limerick City.
Thursday should be an even 100 miles (time around 71/4hrs)between Limerick City and Claremorris / Knock.
Friday will be around 115 miles (time around 81/4 hrs) taking us from Claremorris / Knock to near Omagh.
Saturday will be around 70 miles (time around 5 hrs) from Omagh to our finish point of Malin Head.
The estimated overall cycled distance is 415 miles, completed in a time around 29 hours on the bike.
