Why these charities?
Marie Curie Cancer Care is a UK charity and operates in Northern Ireland.
Some of us know personally the work completed by Marie Curie Cancer Care and similar charities in assisting those with cancer.
Marie Curie provided assistance including nursing care, centres, Education & Research programmes. Click on the link above for more details.
The Irish Cancer Society is an Irish charity.
The Irish Cancer Society performs similar work to Marie Curie Cancer Care which includes nursing care, centres, Education & Research programmes. Click on the link above for more details.
We originate in Northern Ireland, the cycle route chosen takes us through Northern and Southern Ireland. We would like to help all of the charities that do similar work, but to be any real benefit we settled on one each side of the border, that are similar and that rely mainly on collecting money from the general public to keep going.
We can accept money all year, and payment can be made direct in the bank accounts.

Marie Curie Cancer Care can claim back 28% of the value of any donation from the UK government sent to us provided
1) The cheque is made payable to Marie Curie Cancer Care, the person is a UK tax payer, and complete name and address is provided.
2) Pay money into the Ulster Bank account, the person is a UK tax payer, and complete name and address is forwarded to us, and also stating amount and date of payment.
