When the event was envisaged, we wanted to maximise the money collected, we are a non-profit organisation, all donated money goes to the charities.
All help to date has been voluntary, and no money has been paid to anyone assisting, and all costs are kept to a minimum. No money is deducted from the donations to charity. Some events are run that a certain sponsorship amount must be raised, and then the charity pays for the running of the event out of it. We base things on those taking part pay for their own food accommodation etc, be extravagant with your own money if you want, but all money collected on behalf of the charities goes directly to them, no middle men. Their accounts are available for inspection, you can see how they spend the money you and others donate.
When seeking donations occasionally some firms will give goods or may give something towards assisting or financing the running costs of the event. No money collected for the charities is ever used to finance any of these costs. If we ever have a surplus from sponsorship or sale of goods this will be distributed between the charities.

Accounts
All money will be accounted for and can be traced through the charity organisations, we believe those who donate should know how their money is being put to use.
In 2001 we collected £1,892.68 for Marie Curie Cancer Care and €150.00 for the Irish Cancer Society.
In 2002 a total of £4,620.00 was collected for Marie Curie Cancer Care and €230.00 raised for the Irish Cancer Society.
In 2003 a total of £1,910.00 was collected for Marie Curie Cancer Care and €1,850.00 raised for the Irish Cancer Society.

Marie Curie Cancer Care can claim back 28% of the value of any donation from the UK government sent to us provided
1) The cheque is made payable to Marie Curie Cancer Care, the person is a UK tax payer, and complete name and address is provided.
2) Pay money into the Ulster Bank account, the person is a UK tax payer, and complete name and address is forwarded to us, and also stating amount and date of payment.
