MIZEN TO MALIN CYCLE RAISES THOUSANDS

FOR MARIE CURIE CANCER CARE

Seven cycle enthusiasts have raised the magnificent amount of £ 4,620.00 for Marie Curie Cancer Care. The boys set about seeking sponsorship and did their training for their 415 mile trek and it certainly has paid off. The money will make a real difference to people's lives - firstly through the Marie Curie Centre in Belfast, secondly through research and thirdly out in the community through the Marie Curie Nursing Service. The Marie Curie Nurses spend a full eight-hour shift in the patient's home, usually overnight, and this service is completely free of charge.

Community Fundraising Co-ordinator, Sandra Spence said, "I would like to thank all the cyclists for their commitment to the Charity, for their training and congratulate them on cycling all the way from Mizen to Malin – no mean feat!!!

A special word of thanks must go to those who organised the event, provided support to the cyclists and who accompanied the cycle all the way.

Lastly I want to thank everyone who sponsored the lads or supported them in any way - such generosity enables Marie Curie Cancer Care to continue to provide care for today and hope for tomorrow."
